Advocacy is for all of us, as it will take each of us to change our communities. Everyone can speak about their experiences and opinions to help others understand the need and importance of food security.

“CAMBODIA: Currently two thirds of the country’s 1.6 million rural households face seasonal food shortages each year” (Borgen Project).

Across the globe, the COVID-19 pandemic has had a major impact on people’s ability to earn a sustainable wage. However, in Cambodia, the two largest industries are textiles and tourism and as international travel has ground to a halt, many families that were already living on the brink of poverty are now struggling to survive.

Why Advocate

As an advocate, you can take action to help us achieve our vision for a future in which hunger is not a problem in our community become a reality.

Being an anti-hunger advocate is understanding that it takes more than food to fight hunger because there are various factors that affect food security. It takes both short and long-term solutions, such as food assistance, job training, and economic development programs to have a lasting impact.
