Rafal, a volunteer who moved to Siem Reap from the UK about a month ago has been digging in a top dressing of rice hull compost and the next crop has been planted. Naret is going to plant lemon grass and aloe vera on the garden perimeter.

We expect a succession of green leafy vegetables will be ready to start harvesting in about 2 weeks. With morning glory leading the way, followed by spinach, bok choy, lettuce and cabbage.

A big thank you to Mrs Sarin, the owner of Noi Cafe who has kindly offered to donate all their used coffee grounds to the SRFB to help us fertilise and improve the quality of the soil at the Community Garden.

Our terrific volunteer Rafal, constructed a simple 2 bin compost facility for the garden. Our kitchen scraps go in as well as all the garden bio-waste. Composting is a cheap and easy way to produce nutrient rich material to build up the garden soil.
